The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) provides public transportation in the Greater Boston region, including bus service and a subway system. The Alewife Station, located just across the Arlington line in Cambridge, provides the closest access to the subway system. Several important bus routes go through Arlington; they take you to Alewife Station, Harvard Square, Davis Square, Lechmere Station, and the Burlington Mall.
