Melrose is a city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, that is part of the Greater Boston metropolitan area. It is a suburb located approximately seven miles north of Boston. It borders four cities and towns: Malden, Saugus, Stoneham, and Wakefield. Transportation

The MBTA also serves the city. Three bus lines are available: 131, 132, and 137.
There are three commuter rail stations in the area: Wyoming Hill, Melrose/Cedar Park, and Melrose Highlands. Oak Grove, the northern end of the Orange Line subway system, is located in Malden on the Melrose city line. Oak Grove is largely a park-and-ride facility.
