East Bridgewater is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. It is a typical community of southeastern Massachusetts, with ponds, woods, and rivers around the town. The town is bordered on the north by Whitman, to the east by Hanson, to the southeast by Halifax, to the south by Bridgewater, to the west by West Bridgewater, and to the northwest by Brockton. East Bridgewater is 27 miles southeast of Boston.

Transportation

Route 18 runs the town from north to south, going past the town center. Route 106 also runs from east to west across the southern portion of town, while Route 104 skirts the town's southern edge before connecting with Route 106 at the Halifax border. Route 27 also clipped the northeastern corner of town, and Road 14 travels through this portion of town as well. There is no freeway in the town; Route 24 passes through the neighboring towns to the west.

The MBTA's commuter rail's Middleborough-Lakeville line runs through the western part of town for a short distance. There are stops in adjacent Bridgewater and Brockton, as well as Hanson and Halifax on the Kingston-Route 3 line. There is no airport in town; the nearest national airport is Logan International Airport in Boston.
