Somerville Public Schools (SPS) operates ten schools from pre-kindergarten to secondary schools. The majority of Somerville's schools (with the exception of Somerville High School, Benjamin G. Transportation

Somerville is served by seven MBTA subway stations: Davis on the Red Line, Assembly on the Orange Line, and Union Square, East Somerville, Gilman Square, Magoun Square, and Ball Square on the Green Line.

 

McGrath Highway is a major north-south highway that runs through Somerville on Massachusetts Route 28. McGrath is the southeast extension of Monsignor O'Brien Highway in Cambridge, and it is known as the Fellsway north of the connection with Mystic Avenue and Interstate 93 in Medford.

 

The Northern Expressway (Massachusetts) runs northwest and southeast through Somerville, dividing Ten Hills and Assembly Square from the rest of the city.
